Overview

As Northern Ireland’s integrated bus, rail and transport authority there are few people in the region who don’t use Translink’s services.

BeingOnline developed and support a new ecommerce platform to service all of Translink’s online products. The online sales channel generates millions of pounds of revenue annually and is underpinned by a bespoke web application written in .NET ASP. The system has been designed to allow quick roll out of new services, special events products and be flexible enough to manage service changes such as additional capacity or cancellations.

Users start their buying journey using primarily mobile or desktop versions of product offers which are UX designed to ensure the path to check out via Worldpay, PayPal or PayPal Express is fulfilled as easily as possible. Back end custom reporting allows Translink’s staff to easily identify and resolve customer issues.

New application development integrating a Barcode via an API on to ‘Enterprise’ train tickets allows users to reserve train seats, further streamlining the customer user experience.
