Smiths Group PLC
Global E-learning application
Overview
FTSE 100 technology company Smiths Group PLC approached BeingOnline to develop an online elearning resource tool kit for their workforce of 23,000 staff worldwide.
The Sabannes Oxley Act had made large corporations aware of their legal requirement to ensure that all staff where compliant with regulations and law in working practices. BeingOnline specified, designed and delivered an AICC and SCORM compliant platform that housed bespoke eLearning courseware. The system was integrated with Smiths global Active Directory to auto assign courses to new and existing staff. Monitoring of progress and completion of courses are automated by triggered email reminders with ‘escalation’ emails to line managers for failure to complete the mandatory courses. Reporting allows managers to produce statistics on course completion and results.
The GLR system is now a standard part of Smiths staff online induction and ongoing training. Integration of new courses is delivered by the BeingOnline support team.
