Belfast Metropolitan College

Belfast Met is the largest Further and Higher Education College in Northern Ireland and one of the largest in the UK with over 37,000 enrolments on over 500 courses.

The challenge was to create a content managed website that integrated a third party course database and application process, into a modern responsive design. The new website allows users to seamlessly search the website and the courses in one environment without having to jump into an external system. Belfast Met administrators can manage course content from the third party database within the website CMS.

The interface, designed in conjunction with Belfast Met design team, is fully responsive, and provides all functionality on all screen sizes and devices – crucial for the smartphone generation of prospective students.

An enterprise scale hosting solution is in place to handle massive spikes in traffic during key recruitment phases without any drop off in website performance. Hosting security and resilience is bolstered by the deployment of CloudFlare to the hosting firewall.
